Reached home at 6.30AM.
Was out recording for Abu's friend's music project or somewhere along that line.
The place was at Chameleon Recording studio @ Bussorah Street.
It was supposed to start at 10PM.
But met Abu at 10PM.
Took cab to the location.
Thanks ar kena label Ah Lian/fierce/Minah or something like that by Justin.
Was stoning so never really listen to what he said.
Okay lah. Whatever.
The studio damn cool.
Began the Euphonium recording at 11PM.
Very difficult for me to adjust to the whole environment at first. Had never done recordings this professional before. & worse. I had not been touching with music for quite a while. Yeah. Roughly practised @ MI around 3 plus. Seriously, my tone, notes & everything were damn horrible. So demoralising. Anyway, listened to the song from Abu's mp3 & tried to play the piece with it. Oh yeah. The piece titled Ghost Love Score by Nightwish.
1 hour or so, somehow I got the piece right. So, after that home.
Back to the recording studio, it takes me around 1 hour or so to get comfortable. The first few takes took ages to get perfect. Yeah lah. Who seh play the song. Initially discussed to reach home roughly around 1AM. Yeah but how to right when the first few bars totally cannot make it.
Thank god Justin was damn patient. I really like the way he directs me to do this & that. Very professionally done. & the way he editted the waves & sonds, needlessly to say, me & Abu agreed Justin's damn talented.
By 2AM plus I guess, I was getting tired but I did not say anything despite Justin asking me umpteen times. By then, me & Abu took turns for the recording. So jealous of Abu's tone & his consistency on the tempo & stuff. Yeah. I can't follow metronome timing. Gosh. I seriously need conductors lah. So yeah. Justin & Abu conducted me. Anyway, thanks to Abu & Justin for praising me on my techniques & intonation. But, personally, I know where's my standard at currently.
End the whole recording around 4 I think? The recording totally damn exhaustive but 3 of us managed to pull through. Listened to the choir part. Damn nice!!!!!!!! The best part of the piece. Lol.
We then chilled near 7-11. the whole place totally deserted. But cool. Except for the snorings form some homeless guy. Really looking forward to hang out like this in future. For friends' sake, I'm willing to help. But, depends on which kind of friends. But seriously, I'm puzzled why of all people, Abu asked for my help. I know his reasons, but, I do not think I've made the best job that I've could had done.
To Abu - I WANT THE SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, it's a heavy metal song. Have no idea why I liked it from the first time I listened to it. Damn cool song!!!!!!!! Perhaps, this is the limit of any heavy metal song that I could tolerate. & thanks for carrying the Eupho for me & for all the other troubles I had caused you. Especially since you still have school. Hope to hang out with you again & with the rest of our clique. Miss you guys alot siaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!
To Justin - Thanks for everything. All the best for your project. Credits to your patience, tolerance & sense of humour. Gosh. This guy is damn talented. Good luck to whatever you are pursuing at present & in the future.
Great experience. Quality time with best, close, good friend & new friend found :) Okay not exactly a new friend, but get to know him much better.
NOTE TO SELF - Do not let go of what interest you. 'Cause it is hard to gain back all that you've learnt over the years. Damn proven at yesterday's recording. Passion for music is still there, but to sacrifice all of it & forcing to let it go all at once, who are you to kid?
I'm still dead beat even until now. Oh mannnnnnnnn.
