I received a call from Cathay a week ago. I applied for a job there twice. My best friend A recommended the job, since she had been working there for quite a long time now.

Anyway, the call was for a walk - in interview. As usual, me being me, I was always nervous. Regardless of all occasions, be it from going to school to going somewhere new.

Luckily, the interview finally paid off. To my amazement, the manager was greatly excited to accept me as a new staff there. Lol. He told me that I'm earnest (another for determined to try something new; can't believe that I actually look up for the meaning in the dic, this explains that I have a rusty vocab). Also, he said that I certainly will not have any problem communicating with the customers. Well, I really hope I will not. One, smiling for me is a huge problem. So, I really have to practice faking smiling all the time from now onwards. Second, I always mumble & get overly nervous while talking to people. So, practice in this area makes me perfect too. Oh wells.

Anyway, the funny thing is that, the manager told me that he turned down two people that had went for the walk - in interview before me. Wow. I was utterly surprised by that. I thought that I would not even have a chance in getting a job. Ever. Well, blame myself for my pessimism towards myself.

Okay. I starting my first day of work tomorrow. Great isn't it? By the way, that's sarcasm if you do not realise. I have 1 hour to travel down from Bukit Timah to Dhoby Ghaut tomorrow after tomorrow's school. GREAT.
